How To Play
- Create an account at play.escapeout.games and log in or just sign in if you have already created an account. If you’ve played before you may already be signed in.
- Go to the games list and choose your game. You must have access to Internet (wifi or data) to load the game on your web browser – has been tested on Google Chrome.
- Games are meant to be played on location. All clues are based on things close to each game location. There is no outside knowledge necessary except for reading comprehension, some math and directional knowledge like north, south, etc..
- Games have play zones – a picture is shown for the first play zone so you know where to start. Some games only have play zone while others have more. More play zones equals a longer game. All play zones are within walking distance of each other. See game details for walking distance.
- Before playing game you are required to sign a waiver. The main reason for the waiver is that you show that you understand and agree to respect the rules in the area where the game is being played.
- Choose a Team Name before playing. This will be your public name. The leaderboard will display this name so choose something that uniquely identifies you.
- Your score is your time and your time starts when you hit Play – Time Starts on the “Are You Ready” screen. The game does not end until you complete all the puzzles in all the Zones. Please use the buttons to navigate game. The back button does not work as well.
- To play: Tap around on the game screen to try and figure out the puzzles. The game screen provides clues and asks about elements in the environment. You will want to observe details from your surroundings such as Signs, North, South, East, West, names of businesses, fields, structures, etc. Pay special attention to any historical sign or permanent information item.
- Games have different levels –
- level 1 is more like a scavenger hunt. You try
to find items referenced in clues and provide numbers, or
colors, or lists of things that match a certain criteria.
