- They are designed to be played on location with your smartphone
- Games are timed for fun competition with friends and family
- Games are meant to be played and made by a Community (games are not solely designed and created by any one entity)
- Games are based on permanent things in the environment like signs, plaques, other landmarks
- Game designers should not alter the environment: Leave No Trace
- “Take only memories, leave only footprints”
- All games should have clear answers and should require no outside knowledge except reading, a sense of direction (and maybe some math)
- All games are different (different designers, different locations, different levels, etc.) and each may have elements of geocaching, scavenger hunts, and escape room style puzzles (like deciphering codes, solving logic problems, recognizing patterns, wordplay, and critical thinking).
Play A Game!
Games are played on location. You need a smartphone or tablet to play. Some games are easy, others are more challenging. Each game relies on permanent things in the environment like historical signs, regular signs, nature, buildings, landmarks, etc. The philosophy behind each game is that there are no unclear answers and you should not need outside knowledge to play (except for reading, a little math, and some awareness of direction).
